SA Long Distance Triathlon Championships 2026 (Midvaal)

MIDVAAL TRIATHLON

(Doubling as the SA Long Course triathlon Championships 2026)

Venue: Bass Lake Henley-on-Klip

7AM:  Long Distance Triathlon (SA Champs event – this also includes the Aquabike)

2km – 80km – 20km

7:45 AM: Short Distance Triathlon (NOT A CHAMPS EVENT)

1km – 40km – 10km

SWIM is 1 lap short race (1km) or 2 laps long race (2km)

BIKE is 1 lap short race (40km) and 2 laps long race (80km)

RUN is 2 laps short race (10km and 4 laps  long race (20km)

AQUABIKE is 2km swim – 80km cycle

• Registration
• At Bass Lake on Saturday 21st from 12 noon till 4PM
• Registration will also take place on the day of the race, 22^nd February, for those who cannot come through on the SAT.
• The Race is an OPEN Event – TSA registered athletes will qualify for TSA Medals in each of their respective age categories
• TT bikes and Road Bikes will be allowed (NON DRAFT Event)
• At this time of year – being a quarry dam the temperature of the water should be above 23 degree’s but this can be verified on race morning by TSA
• There are plenty of B&B accommodation available in Henley – Meyerton and surrounding areas
• BASS LAKE is only a 30 minute drive from the South of JHB
